Two weeks ago, Sunday, 24th May, 2026, the Bussie Market was packed with a record-breaking crowd of smiling faces! Everyone gathered for a special “town hall” meeting hosted by Hon. Naa Evans Gandiibu, a helpful local leader. This big meeting was the perfect place for him to show everyone exactly how hard he is working to make their town better.
The meeting was full of happy energy! Mr Gandiibu shared exciting news about all the wonderful projects he has helped bring to life. These big wins include bringing clean water, helping schools, fixing up the town, and making sure everyone is taken care of.

In his speech to the crowd, he explained the big plans he has completed to make life happier and easier for families all over the area.
First, he talked about some awesome teamwork that brought fresh, clean water to the town. By working together with a helpful group called the Rotary Club and the local assembly, they built three amazing new water pumps (boreholes) for families to always have clean water to drink!
Schools and students got a super big boost, too! Mr Gandiibu teamed up with friends from far away to build a nice, big six-bedroom house for the local teachers to live in. Plus, to make classrooms extra comfortable, they gave out 40 double-desks to Kamahegu and Sellee schools and handed out brand-new school uniforms to help students feel proud and excited to go to school every day!
To make sure nobody was left out, Mr Gandiibu expanded a helpful program that gives extra support to families who need it most. He also brought yummy food to neighbours living with disabilities and gifted plastic tables and chairs to local mom-to-mom support groups so they have a nice place to sit and weigh children with nurses.
Keeping the town clean and fun was another big goal! Workers cleaned up a major trash dump to keep everyone healthy, and the local football field got a total makeover! Now, the kids and teenagers have a great, safe place to play sports and have fun together.
On top of all the building and fixing, Mr Gandiibu helped the town council collect funds in a smart way. This extra help means the local leaders have what they need to keep doing good things for the community for a long time.
After the speech, the meeting turned into a fun chat! Enthusiastic residents got to say a big “thank you” for the finished projects and share their favourite ideas for what the town should build next.
Seeing so many people show up at the Bussie Market proves just how much the community cares about their home and how excited they are to help Bussie East grow!
