Anwelle Foundation

The Chief Executive Officer of Anwelle Foundation, Mr. Frank Anwelle, has announced plans to purchase a bus for the Jirapa Traditional Council and construct a Weavers Village to promote the local weaving trade.

He made the announcement during the General House Meeting of the Jirapa Traditional Council, chaired by the Paramount Chief, Naa Donglabong Dinaa Ganaa III. The meeting was also attended by the Municipal Chief Executive for Jirapa, Mr. Peter N. N. To-ang, chiefs and landlords from across the traditional area and representatives of various organisations.

Among the organisations present were the Credit Union, St. Francis Girls’ Senior High School, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Health Service, Midwifery Training, Fidelity Bank, Sungzele Rural Bank, Ghana Police Service, National Ambulance Service and Azumah Resources. Representatives were given the opportunity to present their organisations and highlight their contributions to development.

Mr Anwelle explained that the proposed bus purchase and Weavers Village form part of the Foundation’s broader development plans for next year. The bus will facilitate the movement of chiefs to meetings, traditional functions and official engagements across the Jirapa Traditional Area. The Weavers Village is expected to promote local craftsmanship, preserve traditional skills and create economic opportunities for weavers.

The meeting presented a great opportunity for the traditional council to be abreast of the operations of organizations and their challenges and proposed solutions.
