Kalibi Sporting Club founder and Ghanaian politician Bernard Mornah recently celebrated a historic, multi-sport winning streak for his franchise on social media, calling the victories the ultimate payoff for years of hard work and sacrifice.
In an emotional and inspiring post shared on his official Facebook wall, Mr Mornah reflected on an unforgettable seven days during which Kalibi Sporting Club dominated both the local football scene and the international volleyball stage.
The remarkable week kicked off with a historic milestone for Kalibi’s football division. The team officially secured promotion from Division Two to the prestigious Access Bank Division One League after being crowned the ultimate champions of the 2025/2026 Upper West Regional Division Two League.

Reflecting on the gruelling journey to the top, Mornah admitted he initially thought this achievement would be the peak of his week.
“We celebrated because it had been a long and difficult journey, one filled with drama, setbacks, nostalgia, resilience, and, above all, hope,” Mornah wrote. “The promotion was not merely the winning of a league title; it was the fulfilment of a dream that had taken years of sacrifice, perseverance, and unwavering belief.”
However, the celebrations were far from over. Just as the football euphoria settled, the Africa Nations Volleyball Championship Qualifiers concluded in Côte d’Ivoire, throwing Kalibi back into the global spotlight.
Five standout players from the Kalibi Volleyball Club proudly donned the national colours, anchoring the Ghana national team, the Black Spikers, to a flawless, undefeated run. The team swept aside every regional opponent in ruthless fashion, winning all their matches in straight sets (3-0, 3-0, 3-0) to comfortably secure their ticket to the African Nations Championship.
The club’s impact wasn’t limited to the court; Kalibi’s head coaches were also integral to the national team’s technical setup in Abidjan, driving the Black Spikers to victory.
“What a week it has been! The Kalibi experiment is undoubtedly soaring from one height to another,” Mornah exclaimed. “Every success reinforces our conviction that with vision, discipline, and hard work, excellence is inevitable.”
Proving that the club’s ambitions know no bounds, Mornah also revealed that Kalibi’s handball team is currently outside the jurisdiction, undergoing intensive training and competitive matches in Nigeria. The team is scheduled to tour Benin and Togo before returning to Ghana, a move aimed at giving the athletes invaluable international exposure.

Closing his address, the visibly proud club founder extended his heartfelt gratitude to the entire Kalibi ecosystem, acknowledging that the club has now become a true symbol of sports excellence in Ghana.
“As the founder of Kalibi Sporting Club, I am deeply humbled and immensely proud of what we have collectively built,” Mornah stated. “Seeing our athletes and coaches excel on regional, national, and international stages is the greatest reward for years of dedication and sacrifice.”
He concluded with a congratulatory message to the football team, the “outstanding ladies” who conquered Abidjan, the technical and management teams, and the loyal supporters, promising that the sports academy is only getting started.
“The future is bright, and the best is yet to come.”
