Daffiama

The landscape of education in the Upper West Region is undergoing a transformative shift. With the government’s strategic push toward industrialization and skills acquisition, the establishment of the Daffiama Technical Institute stands as a landmark development for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District.

This institution is poised to become a hub of technical excellence, providing the youth of our community and the broader region with the practical expertise needed to thrive in a modern economy.

The establishment of the Daffiama Technical Institute is part of a national commitment to modernize Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). By shifting focus from purely academic pursuits to competency-based training, this centre aims to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industry requirements.

Following community appeals to repurpose the former Daffiama Senior High School facility, the new TVET Centre has officially opened its doors and launched its 2026 recruitment drive. This offers a premier opportunity for professionals to join the founding team, establish the institution’s culture, and shape its future from the ground up.

The Ghana TVET Service is currently seeking qualified personnel across three core categories for engagements.

Teaching Staff: Tutors, Facilitators, Senior Tutors, and Technical Instructors specializing in Engineering, ICT, Hospitality, Fashion, Building & Construction, and Agriculture.

Administrative Staff: Managers, Assistant Managers, and Senior Assistants to oversee the smooth operational, policy, and management functions of the school.

Support Staff: Matrons, Catering Staff, Security Guards, Drivers, Labourers, and Cleaners who are essential to the daily upkeep and safety of the campus.

Teachers with GES who wish to be absorbed into the Daffiama Technical Institute should contact the following numbers, 0554343785 or 0244850197 for any assistance.

To work or study in Daffiama is to engage with a community defined by its resilience and rich cultural heritage.

The Daffiama-Bussie-Issa (DBI) District is centrally located in the Upper West Region. Carved from the erstwhile Nadowli District in 2012, the district features Issa as its administrative capital.

Characterized by a mix of grassland and drought-resistant trees like the baobab and shea nut, the Daffiama landscape is mostly flat, contributing to an agrarian economy where crops like maize, millet, and legumes form the backbone of local livelihoods.

Joining the staff of a brand-new institution like the Daffiama TVET Centre is more than just a job, it is a chance to leave a lasting legacy in the Upper West Region. Whether you are an experienced educator or an entry level professional, your contribution will help ensure that the next generation of youth is equipped with the tools to innovate and succeed.
