Aimed at transforming Ghana’s educational landscape, the Ministry of Education has officially partnered with Cambridge Education to drive a comprehensive national education reform agenda.
The agreement was finalised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the ongoing Education World Forum.
The partnership, signed by the Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, establishes a clear, practical framework designed to modernise the country’s school system from the ground up.
The collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Cambridge Education is built on a comprehensive strategy to modernise the country’s school system from the ground up, with a strong focus on four critical areas of development.
First, the partnership will prioritise rigorous system analysis, which involves a deep evaluation of current institutional structures to identify and fix existing gaps in educational delivery effectively. Alongside these structural assessments, a major emphasis will be placed on curriculum and assessment strengthening, ensuring that both what students learn and how they are tested are upgraded to meet competitive global standards.
To sustain these advancements in the classroom, the framework places a strong focus on teacher professional development, equipping Ghanaian educators with advanced training, resource tools, and modern teaching methodologies.
Finally, the reform looks directly to the future by prioritising future-ready integration, a move that will introduce cutting-edge disciplines like artificial intelligence and climate education directly into the national curriculum, ensuring that students are prepared for the demands of the modern world.
Signalling a massive shift toward modern, 21st-century learning, the framework explicitly prioritises the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Climate Education into Ghanaian classrooms.
This forward-thinking approach aims to equip the next generation of Ghanaian students with the technological literacy and environmental awareness needed to compete on the global stage.
Speaking on the partnership, stakeholders have expressed optimism that the structured rollout will significantly boost learning outcomes across all sixteen regions, including community schools right here in the Upper West Region.
