The Sangu Delle Foundation has initiated a stakeholder engagement with players in the Nandom Entertainment Industry to explore ways of supporting and growing Dagara music and the broader creative arts sector in the municipality.
The meeting, held on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Nandom, brought together about 30 participants, including musicians, managers, DJs, videographers, and event organizers. Notable attendees included Abesig, Daaro J, Emma K, MadStone, Dery Gifty, among others.

The discussions focused on building a strong foundation for the creative industry in Nandom. Key topics included the establishment of a recording studio, access to recording equipment and event venues, copyright and ownership of songs, and the creation of online platforms to host and promote Dagara music.
Participants also called for training programs on social media monetization, video editing, and digital branding for artists. The idea of organizing cultural displays in schools to identify and nurture young talents also received strong support.

Musicians lamented the high cost of production, explaining that many travel as far as Burkina Faso to record their songs. They agreed that having a local recording studio would make music production more affordable and stimulate creativity across the municipality.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Sangu Delle, Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, described the engagement as a crucial first step toward empowering young creatives in the Upper West Region.
“This meeting will not be a one-off. We are institutionalizing it as an annual event to continuously engage, mentor, and empower local talents,” Dr Delle said.
“Technology offers us a great opportunity to stay connected. Through virtual mentorship sessions and Zoom workshops, we can share knowledge, improve skills, and expand the reach of Dagara music.”
He emphasized that supporting the creative sector is not only about entertainment but also about economic empowerment and cultural preservation.
“When we invest in music, arts, and culture, we are investing in our people’s identity and future,” he added.
“Our dream is to see young Dagara artists record, perform, and earn right here in Nandom – without having to leave their community to chase opportunities elsewhere.”
The Executive Director of the Sangu Delle Foundation, Mr Baghr Francis, commended the enthusiasm of the participants and reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment to the creative sector.

“The Foundation will continue to provide the necessary support from capacity building to infrastructure to make Nandom a creative hub for the Dagara people.”
The event concluded with a shared optimism that through collaboration, mentorship, and investment, Dagara music can achieve greater visibility and recognition both nationally and internationally.
