The Upper west regional capital of Wa is overwhelmed with the spate of serial killings in the area. The resident who has sounded helpless over the development have called on authorities to find an ending solution to the development.
A total of seventeen people has been reportedly killed in a similar fashion that leaves resident believing the killings are for ritual purposes.
The recent incent happened on the 15th of July when resident woke up to a gory scene of a driver’s mate being slaughtered and left under an articulator truck at Dobile, a suburb of the municipality.
The incident left the resident in grief as calls have intensified for the police to beef up security in the township. Till the recent incident, the township witnessed the killing of private security personnel which led to the IGP visiting the area over the trend in 2022.
Interacting with the residents, it has become clear that the mixed feeling expressed showed how terrified they are. “They don’t have a target for the operations as everyone can fall prey to the assailants” says a mechanic Dobile.
“What is happening has left us in fear. We edge security to intensify their patrols in the area. It is obvious its for ritual purpose as they kill and harvest organs of the victims” says another resident at Duori. “We must all monitor the situation to find a lasting solution as we are all sad and scared of the development here” he added.
Raheem also a resident speaking to the incidents in the area expressed his disappointment and called on the police to investigate the incidents as residents could also be involved. “If it is strangers or indigens, iI believe indigens are definitely involved as strangers can’t come and do this thing alone” he said
