In a heartwarming display of solidarity and generosity, the Lawra Municipal Assembly, under the leadership of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Cecilia Soyelleh Nuratu, has extended a hand of support to the Muslim community within the municipality. Today, Hon. Nuratu presented a remarkable donation of 57 bags of sugar, a token of goodwill aimed at aiding the local Muslim population during the sacred month of Ramadan.

The donation, which was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Hon. Nuratu and the Hon. Member of Parliament for Lawra, Hon. Bede A. Ziedeng, emphasizes the spirit of unity and compassion that transcends religion and community boundaries. The generous contributions comprised 41 bags from Hon. Ziedeng and 16 bags from the Municipal Assembly, ensuring that the gift reaches all Senior High Schools within the municipality, the Lawra Nursing Training College, and four designated Muslim communities, including Babile, Kunyukuo, Bagri, and Lawra Zongo.

In a traditional display of gratitude, Imams and elders from the respective communities expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the donation. Their prayers for Hon. Nuratu and Hon. Ziedeng echoed the sentiments of unity and communal harmony, reinforcing the bonds that tie the diverse populace of Lawra together.

The occasion was marked by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Deputy Municipal Coordinating Director, NDC Constituency Chairman, Deputy Secretary, Organiser, Zongo Caucus Coordinator, and the Youth Organiser. Their attendance showcased the collaborative efforts of local leadership to foster inclusivity and support for all community members.

This annual tradition not only reinforces the theme of community support during Ramadan but also highlights the important role local leaders play in promoting peace, understanding, and charitable acts among citizens. It is a reminder that acts of kindness, such as this donation, are vital in nurturing a cohesive society where every individual, regardless of their background, feels valued and supported.

As the holy month of Ramadan unfolds, the Lawra Municipal Assembly and its leaders exemplify the essence of charitable giving and communal support. This inspiring message resonates far beyond the borders of Lawra, reminding us all of the power of unity, compassion, and generosity in our diverse nation.
