This was the tune the orphans of St. Joseph Orphanage in Jirapa soberly sang to Hikmah Foundation for the bales of used clothing that were received by the Mother of the orphanage, Rev Sis. Lydia Akanpientiba on Tuesday, 16th December 2025.

At a brief presentation, Mr Ibrahim Kpankpuli Seidu Bhomanjo, the manager of the foundation, explained the purpose of the kindness show, which was to support the foster home for many children.
“This kind gesture is coming from one Mr Yahaya Brown, based in Germany. He has time to go round and to look for clothes to send to Accra, and Accra sends to Wa for us to support people who are in need,” he explained as the children beamed with smiles.
Mr Bhomanjor further stated that HIKMAH Foundation has been helping people who are needy, and by the doing of Mr Yahaya Brown, as that isn’t the first time he has extended kindness to society.
The children were, however, pleased with the items made of cloths, bags, footwear and other attire, which are expected to be put to use judiciously.
Rev Sis. Lydia Akanpientiba received the items and asked that the philanthropist continue to support society, and also prayed for divine grace on Mr Yahaya Brown and Hikmah Foundation for his kindness.
“We say thank you for this gesture. We are very grateful. We have received them, and we are happy. We will make use we put them to correct use. He wants us to help the children so we would use them for their benefit,” she said and also prayed for God to continue helping Mr Brown.

The St. Joseph Orphanage is run by the catholic nuns of the Wa Diocese and has been home to several children since its inception in 1939 by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary.
It typically houses about 40 children, primarily infants and young children up to the age of six, before they are integrated back into their families or larger communities.
The home was originally established to care for newborn babies whose mothers died during childbirth, a critical need in the region at the time.
