Hon. Mary Haruna DCE for Nadowli/Kaleo
The youth of the Kaleo Traditional Area have issued a statement expressing profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and local stakeholders following the successful confirmation of Hon. Mary Haruna as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Nadowli/Kaleo District.

In a press release issued today, the youth celebrated the approval of Hon. Haruna by assembly members yesterday, hailing it as a victory for the district’s progress.

The statement, signed by the group’s Acting President, David Jawara Banye, extended special thanks to key figures who were instrumental in the confirmation process. Those acknowledged include the Upper West Regional Minister, Hon. Charles Lwanga Puozuing, the NDC Regional Chairman, Mr. Abdul Nasir Saani (Bunas), the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency chairman and his executives, and the Member of Parliament for the area.
“You have all shown that as and when the need arises you put the district first,” the statement read.

The youth group also reached out to other candidates who vied for the position, thanking them for their support in the confirmation process and encouraging them not to be disheartened. “Please do not despair because we are optimistic that there are better opportunities ahead of you,” the release noted.
In their message to the newly confirmed DCE, Hon. Mary Haruna, the youth offered words of advice, urging her to lead with a spirit of reconciliation and focus on the district’s development. “We wish to caution that let not the initial rejection be a basis to hold grudges against anyone. Your commitment must be based on peaceful coexistence and the forward match of the district.”

The statement concluded with a powerful call for unity among all stakeholders, emphasising that the district’s future depends on a collective effort. “The future of the district lies squarely on the shoulders of all stakeholders so let’s put Nadowli/Kaleo first before any other interest.
