Providing a critical upgrade to campus sanitary conditions and the well-being of students, prominent philanthropist and contractor, and a leading member of the NDC Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu, has donated GH₵11,000 to the TI Ahmadiya Girls Primary School for the immediate construction of a modern urinary pit.
The donation comes in response to an urgent appeal from the school’s Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the School Management Committee (SMC).
It is very difficult for them either defecating or urinating outside because of even the way they dress,
During a brief presentation ceremony, Mr Abdulai Ibrahim, the Wa Central Youth Organiser and representative for Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu, emphasised that the specific needs of the all-girls institution drove the donation.
“This school is a special school because the school is only girls… they dress almost Islamically. It is very difficult for them either defecating or urinating outside because of even the way they dress,” Oli explained.
He noted that upon receiving the request, Alhaji Gbangu was deeply moved and committed to funding the project to ensure the students have a private and appropriate place of convenience.
The Headmistress of the school, Madam Cynthia Kwablo, expressed profound gratitude for the swift intervention. She revealed that the school had been without a functional urinary facility since the demolition of their previous site in 2023.

The lack of facilities has led to distressing conditions for the students, who were often forced to urinate by the roadside or in the bushes behind the school.
The Headmistress noted that the lack of “places of convenience” often discouraged parents from enrolling their children or led to students leaving the school. She lauded the SMC and PTA for their proactive role in securing the donation, noting that the new facility would significantly help save the image of the school.
The donation was presented by a delegation including Abdulai Ibrahim Oli, the Regional Director of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Umar Tiani, Wa Central NDC Communication Director, at the Youth Secretariat, Abdul Jalil Sani, and Idrisu Kassim (CK).
The team pledged to monitor the construction closely to ensure the facility is “fit for purpose” and serves the students effectively.
